Money for Thought: Blog

Hello!  And Welcome to Money for Thought.

A blog hoping to inspire you to create more abundance in your life.  Whether that is though simple saving ideas, or inspiring you to reach for more.  You'll see all kinds of topics on here; some of my passions include health, cooking, travel, children,  personal habit hacking, authenticity, organizing, and making life a bit more streamlined.

Some articles may not necessarily directly link to money, but in a backwards round about way I promise all articles and posts will relate to money.  If there is a particular topic you would like me to write about send me an e-mail: creativelyjessica@gmail.com;

The Power of Rest

Hello!

How often have you thought, I can't rest, I need to finish this!  Or I don't have time to sit and do nothing!

Any go getters out there?  Hello work-a-holics?  Or even people that stay busy because they are afraid of something happening.

If you dig deep, I know you will find many beliefs around your worth being tied to your out put; or a belief that if you don't do X then Y will happen...  Ultimately beliefs are what drive our choices, actions and experience of life.  Contact me for a free intro session to uncover some of these things.

But today, I'm simply going to bring attention to how much value doing nothing can be.  Currently, its September 2020, and the world is in chaos.  Beliefs about what is going on and how to handle it is dividing families and friends. There are environmental stress in some parts of the country, like fires are fire warnings.  Many people have lost their jobs...

Everybody is in some kind of stress right now!

Taking the time to rest, to do nothing, to zone out, is such a wonderful thing.  We all need to take a break, and this can be one of the deepest resets you can achieve.  This does not mean watching tv.  I mean literally doing nothing.  Sit on your balcony, patio, yard, side walk... or anywhere comfortable, and allow your mind to wander.  Meditation is wonderful too, but for those of you not into meditation, simply doing nothing can do wonders.

When we do this, naturally we become more clear on the order that our to do list would be most effectively completed.  An idea will come up on something you can ask for help.  Sometimes, some of the things on your to do list will simply fall off, or complete it self...

I am encouraging you to take at least 10 minutes, to do nothing.  This does not mean you zone out, and do nothing the entire day.  But set a timer for zone out time.  You will see some interesting shifts.  Of course you could use this time to meditate, or think of all that your are happy about in your life...  If you commit to this kind of practice, you will come up against those beliefs.  This is a wonderful thing, and stick to the committed time of rest, naturally you will notice some interesting shifts.

When we take time out to rest, our cells feel re-charged, and then they are able to get going again.

If you struggle with fatigue, please contact me, I will share everything that I did to turn things around for myself.  I will send you to book titles, and podcasts that helped me to turn things around. AND if you suffer from fatigue, you definitely need a committed time to rest and do nothing!

What I love to do is either lay down, or go outside, I set a timer, I'll have my coffee, wine or water occasionally, and I literally do nothing.  I do not bring anything to write with.  There is nothing that I have to, or am even allowed to figure out.  Its literally committed time to doing nothing (usually 10 minutes).  After the timer goes off, if I have time and am feeling very relaxed, I may stay longer.

Because I struggle with the need to accomplish so much aka, super woman complex, I literally need to schedule time on my calendar to do nothing.  "Do Nothing" is a to do item for me.

I know there are so many people that have a similar struggle, and so while accomplishing things is fantastic, allowing time for rest, will give you that extra power re-charge that will help you go faster.

Wishing you plenty of energy to thrive throughout your day!
