Commentary on Alternative Living

Hello!

As promised I am writing everyday.  I asked a friend for a suggestion and they suggested first the conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln; and then  the emergence of people living in vans.  Ok... I don't know anything about either of those topics.  But I do believe there always have been lots of power dynamics in politics, and Abraham Lincoln did shake things up a bit, so I believe it.  I believe there must have been a conspiracy against him.  And people living in vans...  I didn't know that was emerging, but it makes sense.  You have all of your belongings with you, and you can go anywhere you want.  You're not tied down to one location.  I can resonate with that, there was a point in my life, I think all of my 20's, where if you told me I could only live in one place the rest of my life, that would trigger instant anxiety and depression.  The only way I was able to stay in one place for several years, was because I had a goal I wanted to achieve: getting my degree; or I knew when it was going to end, and I had another adventure planned.

Staying in one place can trigger many things.  For one, when you stay in one place for a long time, you start to develop your routine.  Unless you are very disciplined at keeping variety in your life, which I think takes a good amount of effort.  Personally I found it easier to work really hard and buy tickets to other countries, and start my life over again, than to stay in one place; makes perfect sense right??  When you stay in one place the people around you naturally begin to expect consistency from you.  And if you are the type that likes or needs a very high degree of novelty, you'll start to run up against each other.  I do believe that most people in this boat prefer to leave than to learn how to get along with the people that prefer consistency.

What also happens when your life becomes more consistent is that your "stuff" starts to show up.  If you don't want to confront your "stuff" then you have to change your external world in order to avoid your internal world.  When there is change, chaos or novelty you are suddenly "out of" or "safe" from whatever emotional situation was beginning to creep up.  When I recognized this pattern in myself, I quit traveling as much, and became intentional about trying to establish my life in one place.  I became intentional and committed to facing my "stuff"  Now that is my favorite thing to do.  No doubt travel will forever be a part of my life, but it's not in the same way anymore.

And living in a van is a lot cheaper than paying rent or a mortgage.  One a van is cheaper than a house, and two you just have less stuff.  When you have less things, there is less to maintain - less stress.  You are also naturally forced to have greater connection with the outside world, rather than having the ability to curl up on the couch and watch tv (shutting out the outside world).  To many people having a greater connection with the outside world is truly living.

With society in general becoming more and more expensive, more and more people recognizing that they are not happy in their 9-5 "should" life, it makes sense that there is an emergence in alternative styles of living, like living out of a van, or a tiny house.  OR you could go full extreme minimalist and be like James Altucher and live with only what fits in your backpack.  Very inspiring, but I don't have any desire to live like that.  Check out his story, its fascinating.

What can we take away form people that are choosing a more nomadic lifestyle?

1. What can you do today to make your life a little more interesting?  Learn something, try something you have never done before, get rid of some things... There are a couple ideas.

2.  What are you running away from?  Instead of making big external changes, go into that pain feel it, see what it is wanting you to know.  From my own emotional journey I have learned that these painful emotions are only coming up for you to see because it is safe for you to see them now.  Yes, they can be extremely painful, but if you go into it, if you feel it, give it compassion, attention and care, your life will get SO much better once you've "healed or intergrated" that part of you.  Its magical.  I do believe getting help like a therapist or coach is a wonderful thing.  I have had both.

Sending you love, and may your life get more exciting without the need to make really big external changes.

Water Equals Abundance

What should I write about today?  Seriously, if there is any topic you would like me to write about please send me an e-mail at Creativelyjessica@gmail.com.  I'll make sure you get the article too!

Water is what keeps showing up, so water it is.  I LOVE water, I think most people do.  Babies love water, we can't live without water.  Water heals, water is beautiful.  All of the most expensive property is on the water.  Water and all its forms are often used as metaphors...  And water is also used by many people to increase their abundance.

Water is the single best thing besides breathing clean air, exercise and sleep that will improve our health.  If you want to loose weight you have to drink more water.  We all know we "should" drink more water.  If you want better skin you have to drink more water...  We know the health benefits and endless.  In addition the the health benefits, you just feel better when you drink plenty of water.

So how can water make you more abundant?
Energetically - it carries the energetic quality within it.  Try the rice experiment in your house just to see how powerful affirmations are.  A video is posted below, but there are several if you simply search "rice experiment".  And this is so easy to do.  Simply get a sharpie or a label maker and write loving positive affirmations on your water bottles, and or water filters.  I have affirmations on everything, because I believe it's very powerful.

I love you
I am wealthy
I am abundant
Money flows into my life like water
I am more abundant with every sip...
Whatever affirmation makes you feel good is perfect.

Thank you Dr. Emoto, truly.  Thank you for doing your research to prove what several past spiritual leaders have believed.  Thank you for teaching the world just how powerful water, and our thoughts are.

And then being in or around water, I do believe naturally lifts our spirits.  For myself, I have always gone to water when I was sad.  Either I would take a bath, or go for a walk along the water.  I always feel better afterwards.  And swimming, oh man!  I always feel incredible after swimming, there is something about being in the water that just washes everything away.  And with babies, if you ever have an upset baby turn on the water, fill a bowl and let them play with it, that will always make them stop crying, unless there is a much bigger problem going on.  But even if something serious is going on with your child, water will still help calm the situation down a little bit.  This has worked without fail every time for 20 years for me.

Now onto the more pragmatic reasons of how water will make you more abundant.  To start water is literally cheaper than other beverages.  Tap water is free.  Now I believe filtered water is better than tap, and that does cost something.  But depending on how much juice or soda you drink, most likely the filter will still work out to be cheaper.  That's just at an up front cost level.

Then there are massive health benefits.  Being fully hydrated will heal or help to heal almost every ailment.  If you are fully hydrated you will get sick much less often.  A long time ago, I learned that if you are fully hydrated and fully rested it is not possible to get sick.  While I still believe this, unfortunately I don't remember where I learned this, so I cannot site the source.  Drinking more water has always given me clearer skin the next day, and right now when I am fully hydrated, my gut issues are WAY better (like I think it is healed) and can tolerate foods I am not supposed to eat.

You will have more energy in general, and most likely it will contribute to sleeping better.  When I drink A LOT of water, like more than a gallon a day, I feel incredible.  Bouncing off the walls, life is so amazing incredible.  One day I was flying, the crew I was working with, decided to have a contest to see who could drink the most water on the flight.  To this day that was the best I had ever felt on a plane.  I was probably so annoying, I kept saying "wow! I can't believe how good I feel!"  I couldn't stop saying that, I really couldn't believe it.  Conversely when you are dehydrated, you are so sluggish and don't feel like doing very much.  But the only way to see if I am right or not is to try it out for yourself.  I recommend to do an experiment of drinking the recommended amount of water for your weight for at least two weeks.  And you want to make sure your intake is even throughout the day, not all at once, or large amounts a few times during the day.  Your body needs time to digest and take the nutritious hydration to where it needs to go.  If you do this experiment, then only record the water you drink.  Coffee, juice, and tea do not count when doing this experiment.  And rate how good you feel each day.

What will improving your energy and health do for your finances?  I would really love to see you find out.  Naturally you'll be in a better mood, so more opportunities will come your way, and work will not be as taxing.  Who knows you might feel like giving a little extra?  This will most certainly come back to you in wealth!  But you'll have to try it out to actually see the results.

So what is plenty of water?  Or rather, "enough" water?  And does juice, soda, coffee or tea count?  Personally I do not think anything measures up to water.  But if its drinking something or nothing, I do think drinking any of the other beverage options are better than nothing. Personally I think the best way to figure out what "enough" water is for you, is to track your water intake.  We all have smart phones, tracking it on an ap is a really easy way.  I have always drank a lot of water, but it wasn't until I began to track my water that I realized I was chronically dehydrated.  I was about 10-20 ounces short of what my body actually needed.  Once I began to drink enough water every day, and yes I did find it hard to fit that much water into my stomach, I began to sleep great almost every night and I was able to tolerate some foods that I was typically allergic to.

May abundance and prosperity flow into your life like water flowing down stream.

Love, Jessica

Hello!

Today I'd like to share some of my favorite saving strategies.  While I believe Money Coaching is about WAY MORE than simple strategies to save or grow money.  To get real change you have to work with the roots.  BUT! Here are some simple strategies to grow that bank account!

All of these I have tried, and some worked better for me than others, so pick one that you think would work for you and try it out for a specific time, like a month, or 6 months; and just try one habit at a time.

1.   Pick something you regularly spend money on, and/or the typical amount, and any time you don't do that, or spend less.  Take the amount you would have spent and put it into a specific savings account, or pay off a specific credit card.

Why do I love this one?  Because it's not requiring you to make serious change, maybe you do choose to go out to dinner one night less a week?  But if you really feel like it then go.  But as you start to see that bank account grow, eventually it will be more fun to make the cheaper choice so that you can add to your fund.  I have typically done this for coffee and wine.  Any time I skipped getting a coffee, I would put that $3.25, which now is $5, into my savings account.  I'd do this every time I wanted a coffee, and chose not to get it, or chose to drink the free coffee that is provided when I am on the road.  And with wine, it was anytime I only had one glass, I would transfer $7.  This works best if you make the transfer immediately.  If you "do it later" you'll most likely find an excuse or reason of why you don't need to.

2.  Tax your self.  This one is not as fun.  But choose something that you want to cut your spending on, and tax that.  You may not put a tax on anybody else.  So maybe you recognize that you spend a lot on going out to eat?  Then you pick how much you will tax yourself, and everytime you do that activity, then you transfer the predetermined tax amount immediately after paying the bill. 1-10% should be good.  Personally I think any higher than that, is not very nice to yourself.

The way I like to do this is to put a tax on something I already want to stop doing.  Smoking or drinking might be a good choice.  I have done this on sweets.

3.  Just make it automatic.  Set up an automatic transfer to an account specifically designated for your goal.  This is what I do now.  It's the easiest for me at this stage.

4.  Take your monthly income and divide it by 5.  That is your budget that you are allowed to spend on EVERYTHING.  Including gas & coffee, or $1 tips & donations.  You may do this strategie strictly in cash, or you can record every single penny.  Doing this one will automatically save 1/5th of your income that can be applied towards big purchases, goals, or building up your "curve ball account", ect....

5.  The Envelope method.  The envelope method, is a tried and true method that does work.  It forces you to be extremely mindful, because you are doing everything in cash.  Create an envelope for each category of spending, then every paycheck put the budgeted amount in there, and that is what you have to spend until the next paycheck.

6.  Take 10.
This one can be pretty fun.  Every time you receive a $10 bill, you take it out of your wallet, and save it in a safe place.  This one works because its unusual to receive $10 bills, compared to $5 or $20, and $10 won't hurt that much to spend.

7.  Create a budget.  I know the most obvious.  But a serious challenge for most people.

8.  Instead of happy hour, do a sunset hike!  Why not save money and get some exercise while hanging out with your friends.  This will benefit everyone in multiple ways.  My personal favorite <3

9.  Take a large amount of money, and put it in a high yield savings account.  This one may work better for some people than others.   For example if you get a bonus once a year or a couple times a year, take at least half, or even all of it, and just set it aside in a interest accumulating account, like a money market account, a CD, stocks... and let the money multiply for you.

10. Make an extra payment.  Whether you own a house, a car, or have some credit card debt, nothing will get your finances in better shape than becoming debt free faster.

AND to take this a step farther once you have paid off whatever it was; keep making that "payment" into a savings account or investing in stocks, or yourself, towards a specific goal.  For example once I paid off my car, I kept making my "car payment" towards a savings account that I have for big purchase items, like travel, buying a house, or my next car.  I plan on buying my next car out right.

.................................................................................

I am sure many of you have heard of some or all of these before.  But they work.  All of them require discipline.  So if discipline is your downfall, start as small as you possibly can, like $1 a month.  I know that sounds ridiculous.  But its not, the habit is more important than the amount.  And if discipline, or whenever things are going good, something bad always happens to wipe it all away, or anything else like that, there are much bigger patterns at play that really need to be addressed.

If you are enjoying reading my articles, then chance are you are ready to confront those patterns that may be unconscious and do the deep work to get real change.  Book a free 1 hour consultation on my Contact page to learn more about the Money Coaching Process.

My Beginning

2/19/2020

Today I'd like to share how I got started in Money Coaching.  As a child some of my favorite things to do were to plan and to dream/design.  I loved to re-design my room, or design my future house (still one of my favorite things to do), and planning showed up in the way of color coding my calendar, and planning for "big" purchases.  As a child that meant music and clothes, then later on snow board trips.  And eventually I would begin to save up for traveling.  Traveling was something I had grown up with, and is still a very big part of my life.  So even though the amount of money I needed was a very large amount, that I did not understand where that money would come from I would still save.
I knew someday I would get there.  This a mindset that has served me very well.  One that I had taken for granted.  Now that I am a Money Coach, I see just how critical your mindset is.

At 10 years old I began my first "job" doing Olympia Sales Catalogue.  I'd see to my nice neighbors that wanted to support me.  But this is where I made up my saving system, so that I have money for everything I want.  I did not know who Dave Ramsey was until many years later, but it was his system, basically. But a snowball method for saving.  I set my minimums,  and added percentages, then when I met my minimum all of that money for that category went to another category.

Fast forward through highschool and college, I worked and saved my money, I always had money for what I wanted.  I took out a student loan, just like I thought was normal and went off to college.  After college my priority was travel, and I made it happen.  I wasn't until my late 20's that I looked at my situation in the face, and realized I was not where I wanted to be.  So then I decided to buckle down and become debt free.  Because of college and a car loan, I owed about $40,000.  With my income at the time I calculated it would take me about 10-15 years to pay it off, nevermind saving.  I paid it off in 4 years.

For my income that was impressive.  Sometimes I felt on top of it, and sometimes I felt like it was so far away.  But I stuck to my system and it worked.  It was my coach who pointed out how impressive that was, and that not a lot of people can do that.  I thought it was normal, and anybody can accomplish anything they want if they put their mind to it (at the time).  Now I see how past conditioning and beliefs are sometimes a giant subconscious block, that drive our decisions.  Sometimes we think we are making a good decision and it is actually sabotaging, but we can't see it because of our conditioning.

So my coach pointed out that I am really good with money, and not many people could become 100% debt free as fast as I did, and she recommended I look into Money Coaching.  It was as if it was meant to be.  From the day I decided I wanted to do money coaching to day 1 of the program was one week.  I began the program and working with a money coach myself.  I felt like I found my calling, it was a wonderful excited home feeling.  All of my practice clients (a requirement of the program) improved in their money situation in some way.  Some manifested a cheaper and more beautiful and fulfilling apartment, some, more clients without any advertising and a lawsuit settlement that they had grown hopless of getting closed, another the confidence to raise the price of her services.  And the work continues to pay off, as I can see that the shifts that occurred because of working together, and guided several decisions and events towards greater financial health and abundance for them.  I am so thankful to have helped each one, to reduce a big stress and receive more abundance.

Since my certification I have worked with several other clients, and enjoyed watching their growth and success.  And I have started a new coaching program with Rachel Jayne Groover, the Art of Feminine Presence.  (Any good coach, continues to do the work on themselves)  So eventually I will be able to teach this in combination with money coaching, for an even bigger shift!

Shifts often bring the result of more money, and easier life, more fulfillment, better health, quicker manifesting....  How it shows up is very individual.  Our desires and preferences vary greatly.

So now I am constantly expanding towards even greater fulfillment and abundance, as I work with clients to do the same!

If you would like greater fulfillment and abundance schedule a free 1 hour coaching consultation. You'll learn more about the money coaching process, and we will address one issue that is affecting you right now. You can schedule it on the contact page, or send me an e-mail! Journaling to Recharge

2/18/2020

Hello Abundant Friends!

Last night I got the intuition hit that I need to write everyday. So you will begin to see a lot more posts.  I may not necessarily write on here, but for sure my frequency is going to increase.

So yesterday I felt HORRIBLE.  I wondered if I had the corona virus, I didn't.  Literally I experienced the worst allergic reaction I have ever heard of.  I went to Sacramento and I already knew I get bad allergies in Sacramento, my skin itches, so bad everywhere, that I want to rip off my skin.  Anybody that knows what the beginning of an eczema breakout feels like, it feels like that but all over, especially on the places you cannot scratch.  But this time, I could feel these allergens going into my body via the path of itchiness that developed on the inside of my throat, then that went into my muscles and bones.  Holy cow it hurt.  But thanks to my "take that flu" soup, I'm 90% better after one day.

I am disappointed that I had to cancel a client, but there is no way I would have been able to deliver with her today.

So yesterday I did nothing.  And I am proud of myself for that!  Its quite hard for me to not do anything.  I enjoyed a movie, read, snuggled.  It was wonderful.  I had to let it be wonderful :)   All I have been eating is some variation of my "take that flu" soup, with chicken broth and spinach minimum.  And today I'll accomplish some things, but not going to push it.  And keeping my promise to follow my guidance that showed up, by writing.

When you need to recharge follow you body and what it says.  On the practical side, drink lots of water, and then drink more.  Treat your body like it is sick, and eat foods that you know are clean and feel good to eat; that feel physically good, like nourishing, when its in your stomach, not emotionally good.  Sugar will deplete you.  For me that is chicken broth, but for you it may be something different.  At first when I started eating chicken broth, I really didn't like the taste, and thought it was kind of gross to eat, but I could feel the immediate nourishment.  If you can try to pay attention to what nourishing feels like to you.  This will lead you towards more energy.  Get the blood flowing.  Even though I was exhausted I did still go for a little walk, because I knew that would help.  It did.  Those are mostly universal things to recharge.

Now here is what I do to recharge, and see if it works for you, it might not.  You may have different things.
+Art, just playing and being creative
+Meditation.  I like to call it sleepitating, because most of the time I meditate lying down, and often fall asleep.
+Water.  I have to drink A LOT of water, but also being in water, looking at water.  Part of my need for water is my spiritual upgrade.  And that is also probably why I have become more sensitive.
+Reading.  I love reading.
+Yoga.  I do short yoga videos, that usually helps
+And yes doing nothing.  BUT I have to let it be ok to do nothing.  If I try to do nothing, and don't let it be ok, and keep repeating my growing list of to do items, I will just get stressed out.  What helps me with that, is to take things 10 minutes at a time.  Very often I will spend my entire day, just 10 minutes at a time.  I set my times and decide what I would like to do for these next 10 minutes.  This is so helpful and recharging to me.
+Pampering.  Who doesn't love pampering.
+Being seen.  This maybe an abstract concept to some of you.  But this is incredibly powerful.  And also somewhat out of my control.  What is in my control is to choose people that are in my life, and look for new people, that I can be vulnerable with, let all my hoopla hang out, and it is taken in by them, and validated.  There is no judgement, there is no harsh reaction.  Or even any reaction at all, except for understanding and compassion.  A giant part of why I love to write is that I feel I am being seen.  That I am expressing my true self.  I think I am not alone, that I don't feel like very many of my family can see me.  See me as in take in all that I am and not have a reaction when things aren't going great.  Several people in my family are "fixers"  and when things are bad they need to "fix" my life.  This is so detrimental to me, basically it was telling me how its not ok for feel like that.  And so unfortunately I learned really well how to be invisible.  So finding people that can take you in is very important.  And minimizing the time with people that cannot "truly see" you.

I will continue to grow my own list.  But I hope some or many of these work to recharge you.  I'd love to know what else recharges you?

Sending love, Jessica

Recognizing Limitations & Filling your Cup

Hello,

This article is more of a reflection or journal entry.

I have a tendency to push myself way too hard, but normally the push back I get is simply exhaustion.  Coming from a work-a-holic with a super woman mom, I still think I can do everything, and often try.  I often think/wish I had 48 hours in a day, or wish I didn't need to sleep, and many times schedule my day as such.  I see myself as a good friend, and yet rarely expect or even put my own needs out there.  I know so many of us, especially women do this.  I just had a big weekend, where I worked, tried to be there for my friend beyond my capacity, slept poorly every night, part of work was going to Sacramento, which triggered my allergies (I am crazy sensitive).  And now I am having either the worst allergic reaction I have ever heard of, or I am actually REALLY sick.

What is the point of all this?  Well  I need to take an even bigger step back than I have already been trying to do.  But really my trying to chill out, is a laundry list of things still.  Things that would make my working days easier.  Its more so a struggle, of I WILL relax now (I hope you get the forcefulness) and but if I just get this stuff done, then my list will be finished.  And then something big like this happens, where I literally can't do anything.  I am recognizing how I need to learn what my boundaries are, even if they change, and communicate them.

I can see how this directly relates to money.  The belief that if I don't work I won't get money is showing up.  I can see how my sense of value is tied to doing, achievements, and giving.  And is that true?  NO!  If I don't work one day, or even take a long stretch off, I am still going to be ok.  And the truth is that I, and all of you, are just as valuable and important if you achieve or give, or not.

I guess the trick would be to find more things to give, that fill you up to give.  For example writing this article, and writing in general is fulfilling to me.  Whether or not anybody reads this, I am still feeling fulfilled, by being expressive.  I do hope people read this, AND feel inspired by this.  But its ok if that doesn't happen.

Also, I can see how I struggle to be selfish, and fill my own cup.  I can see how so many people around me also struggle with the same thing.  And the result of that is that they need their cup filled by somebody else.  OH!  I just had the realization that the need to get your cup filled never goes away.  If you don't learn how to fill your own cup, you will figure out (subconsciously) how to get somebody else to fill it, or forever try.  I am seeing very plainly how I think this process is taking forever, and I don't want to need to fill my cup anymore. But its true, the times that my own cup has been full, it feels good to give, and doesn't cost me anything (energy), where as when I give from a place of feeling depleted, holy cow that is even more draining.  AND the people that do call you selfish, are actually telling you that they are mad at you for not filling their cup.  WOW! Big realization.

Now, in what ways do you push yourself too hard?

How could you increase your daily practice of filling your own cup?

There are plenty of free things, as well as expensive ones, the key is to discern what will bring you the greatest fulfillment.  I believe the little things are the most powerful, so:
What can you do during your drive that would fill your cup?  What can you do while at work that would fill your cup?  How can you dress more authentically to fill your own cup?  I do believe the key is in the little things.  Just like when you want to change a habit, or when saving money, its the baby steps that make the biggest difference.

So the rest of my day will be spent picking apart what I can do to increase the things I do to fill my own cup.  And if that means doing nothing, then that's what it'll be!

Keto-licious Vegan Salad

2/3/2020

Hello!

I just want to share my delicious salad I'm enjoying.  I have become pretty passionate about finding keto vegan meals ever since I discovered how much of a GIANT deal getting enough fat plays in my life.  I was vegan for a long time.  99% vegan, I still ate eggs and if I really wanted it, I would eat seafood, which ended up being about once a month.  When I, out of nowhere, could tolerate almost nothing.  I called my close friend crying because I honestly thought I was dying.  Probably a little dramatic, but I felt like I was becoming allergic to everything.  At its worst, I would only know if I could eat that thing or not if I threw up or not.  It was horrible and caused a ton of anxiety.

Then I did a lot of research, and deduced that I had gut dysbiosis, that I am still healing from.  I self diagnosed BECAUSE my doctor said "you know, you are getting older" when complaining about chronic fatigue, that I felt like I was becoming allergic to more and more things, that my joints were hurting...  I've said this before, but it was Dave Aspery (preaching high fat) and Dr. Steven Gundry, his book The Plant Paradox, that gave me immediate relief.  SO now I eat giant salads with a lot of Avocado, and usually some protein.  My priority when I eat now is fat and vegetables.  I cannot tell you how much this has helped me.  So this is why I love telling my story because there are lots of people that suffer from similar extremely hard to pinpoint issues.

And the benefits of eating high fat help out your wallet too.  I only eat two meals a day now, because that is all I crave.  I save a lot of money and time, compared to before where I would eat all day long, and often get so hungry that the second I left the house I would have to buy food.  Often when I would go out to eat I would buy two full meals, spending $50 usually, which was too much for me to spend, but I didn't want to be shaking hungry the rest of the night.  But I usually bought something again later anyway.  My friends would complain about how much I ate.

SO!  Here is my delicious salad!  I hope you try it out, and enjoy!

Salad mix
Sesame Seeds - Just look up the nutrition sesame seeds provide, holy cow!
Pecans (substitute or add different nuts that you like)
Ground Flax Seeds - A good source of vegan omega 3's
A lot of guacamole, sometimes I just do avocado.  Now I have guacamole in my home at all times.
An entire lime
Lots of olive oil
Add cilantro or Parsley for an even bigger nutritional bang!

This salad is delicious, for the most part allergen free (for most common allergens), keto and vegan.

Bon Appetit!
